At just 16, Chachi embarked on a remarkable journey fuelled by her Ethiopian roots, igniting her passion for music. She seamlessly blended her heritage with her love for reggae, a fusion that captivated audiences worldwide. After she moved to USA, she started taking classes in music, modelling and acting.
It was her distinctive combination of Amharic lyrics with the soulful rhythms of reggae that set her apart, drawing in a devoted following eager for her unique sound. With the release of her debut album in 1984, she found herself sharing stages with icons like Ziggy Marley's former band and touring across the U.S. and the Caribbean, spreading her infectious melodies far and wide.
Chachi's groundbreaking work as the first songwriter to infuse reggae with an authentic African spirit marks her as a true pioneer in the music industry.
